Travelling with the OV-chipcard

The OV-chipcard is the ticket for public transport in the Netherlands. If you carry an OV-chipcard with you, you will no longer need to think about strip tickets or metro and train tickets. You can travel on trains, trams, buses and metros with a single ticket. Read more about:

OV-chipkaart travel products

You can purchase a subscription or travel product for your OV-chipcard conveniently and quickly at our webshop (Hermes is part of Connexxion. You can purchase products in the Connexxion webshop).

Buying tickets

The best ticket for you depends on how often you travel and your own, personal preferences.
If you don't have an OV-chipcard, you can buy a ticket in the bus or buy an e-ticket. Please note: It is no longer possible to pay cash on the bus. You can use pin or creditcard.
At Airport Eindhoven tickets can be bought at the vending machines and the service point. There are 2 vending machines at the busstop and 1 vending machine at the baggage claim area.

Children under 12 travel free of charge

The youngest children aged 0-4 always travel, together with an adult, free of charge in public transport in the Netherlands. You also do not need an OV-chipcard for the child. Each person travelling with an OV-chipcard (whole day) or with an off-peak day ticket (after 9 a.m.) can also take 2 children between 4 and 12 with them free of charge.
